Should Soulcalibur VI Character Creation Be Restricted?
The Soulcalibur series is famous for having a robust custom character creator. Something that can result in wonderful things when put in the hands of creative players. For proof, look no further than the fact that Soulcalibur VI players have been making custom characters that range from Bowsette of recent Internet fame to Ciri from The Witcher and Thanos from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With that said, it should come as no surprise to learn that other Soulcalibur VI players have been putting its custom character creator to amusing but nonetheless juvenile use by mounting giant genitalia on their custom characters.
The potential problem is that said individuals have been using their creations to play in online matches, which has resulted in a wide range of reactions with confusion being not the least of them. Due to this, it will be interesting to see how Bandai Namco responds to this trend of sorts.
On the one hand, one suspects that it might not be particularly thrilled to be associated with such creations, particularly since they are pushing the boundaries of the age ratings for the game. Something that can have a material impact on future sales.
On the other hand, the versatility of the custom character creator can be considered a selling point from a certain perspective. Never mind the inevitable outcry that would ensue if it chooses to take action no matter how justified it might be.
