It has been more than two decades since the release of the last installment in the Streets of Rage series. Supposedly, Streets of Rage 4 was actually in development at one point in time, but a change in management resulted in its cancellation because the new people in charge had no clue about how profitable the series was, with the result that it was left to languish.
Now, it is clear that Streets of Rage 4 is on its way out, as shown by a number of screenshots that have been released for interested individuals. They definitely give off a retro feel, but at the same time, there is a crispness to them that suggests that the people behind them are making good use of modern advancements.
