Borderlands 3 Cheats and Tips

With a lofty campaign, tons of enemies and exclusive weapons, Borderlands 3 is finally here, and we are eager to help you get up and running.

With lots of content and destruction before you, we understand you might get a little lost in the chaos that is Borderlands 3.

Thankfully we are here to help and have compiled some of the most useful tips to get you up and running. New and seasoned Vault Hunters gather round, here are our Borderlands 3 tips.

Use Your Firing Modes Effectively (Borderlands 3 Cheats and Tips)

Borderlands 3 offers the latest in alternative firing modes, and for various weapons. However, there’s quite a bit to remember, and it can be easy to find yourself not using the proper choices with each arsenal, or completely overlook them.

That’s why we recommend checking out each weapon’s game description in the inventory, as soon as you equip a weapon you aren’t familiar with. The in-game weapon description will not only tell you if the gun has alternative firing modes, but also the purpose of each weapon.

You can then make use of the D-Pad to switch between firing modes. Take the sniper rifle, some of these will have both shock and corrosive damage, so by switching around the modes, you can effectively defeat enemies with the corresponding weakness. The combat in Borderlands 3 is all the better when you pay attention and use weapon firing modes properly.

Character Builds (Borderlands 3 Cheats and Tips)

The Vault Hunters in the game come with their own tree skills, ready for customization and a phenomenal leveling system. Gearbox has posted the skill trees online, and certain Borderlands communities have figured out the best builds for each hero. We recommend searching the web and discovering which Vault Hunter builds strike your fancy.

There’s Vault Hunter builds for every play style. Want a stealth build, ideal for sniping and moving about with near invisibility? You can do that, and the online community can make it even easier to figure out which skills match your preferred build and play style.

We recommend putting some research into which Borderlands 3 build will suit your needs, even before you officially jump into the game.

If the Environment Can be Destroyed, it Should Be (Borderlands 3 Cheats and Tips)

We must admit that the Borderlands franchise has never required much of a duck and cover playstyle, but Borderlands 3 is another game with destructible environments, and that is a crucial element player cannot overlook.

Certain environments and objects in the game can be destroyed, either completely with explosives, or shot through with bullets. Keep this in mind when the going gets tough.

This of course applies in each direction, and your Vault Hunter will ultimately have less places to safely hide from damage. A recommended playstyle for Borderlands 3 is to keep moving at a healthy pace, play more towards the offensive side of things, make use of grenades, weapons and firing styles, and figure out your opponents’ strategy and work towards taking them out.

Co Op Mode is A Good Time

Borderlands 3 features loot that won’t be shared during co-op mode. Yeah, were excited about that too. Playing in co-op, whether online or split screen means that during the game, loot won’t need to be shared amongst players. Players can now team up and level up together without worrying about one teammate hording all the good items.

Although there is another co-op mode in Borderlands 3, where loot sharing and level scaling are turned off, the Co-opetition Mode. This mode ensures all teammates are essentially duking it out for the best weapons, and the player who can’t get the good loot will have a more difficult time further along in the game. While it’s not recommended for the newest of player, Co-opetition mode is a great way to experience the old-school co-op playstyle and add new elements into the game.

Don’t Forget your Crew Challenges

Crew missions are a new feature of Borderland 3, designed with collection in mind. With crew missions comes Typhon Logs, Claptrap parts and many more items. To get these items, just finish all the objectives in one zone, and you’ll gain access to the loot and gear available.

And keeping track of the crew missions is simple, just access them from your map section in the menu. It’s important to know that the collectibles will appear throughout both the campaign and side missions, so keep your eyes peeled as you make your way through zones, and don’t continue through that zone until you have completed each crew challenge.

Can’t Win Without Ammo

Borderlands 3 is filled with plenty of ammunition, but every once and a while you’ll find yourself running a bit low. Maybe there’s a tricky boss fight ahead, or maybe you just really, really like firing your weapon, and you need some more ammo.

Well Marcus Munitions has you covered. These munitions vending machines appear in each zone and will let you do something no other Borderlands game has offered before, maxing out your ammo. Simply face the machine and hit the button for “Refill Ammo”. Of course, this comes with a small fee, but hey, the more ammo the better.

Bonus Objectives are Worth It

Regular missions and side missions in Borderlands 3 each come with extra bonus objectives for you to complete. These bonuses will enhance your gameplay and add more of a challenge to the game. For example, you might have to defeat enemies with only explosive weapons or shoot a boss in a specific part of their body.

While these bonus objectives might not seem necessary, there’s extra rewards to be earned by completing them, and wouldn’t you want to do just a bit more if it meant getting an exclusive, super rare weapon? Or maybe just a lot of XP for leveling up.

Make use of the bonus objectives, don’t ignore them, and you’ll be the toughest Borderlands 3 player on the planet.

Infinite money

First, back up your saved game file using the steps listed in the “Duplicating weapons and items” exploit. In Co-Op/Splitscreen mode, press Square on another player to trade. Give them your money and or most valuable items. Then, copy back your backup save and give the money again. Repeat this as many times as desired.

Easy Legendary weapon farming

First, progress through the story until you reach Jakob’s Estate on the Eden-6 planet. This is late in the story. This farm is even better after completing the story and increasing the difficulty to Mayhem III. Even on Mayhem I, you will get a lot more high-tier gear. Go to the area with the elevator that takes you up to Jakob’s Mansion. There is a bridge with a New-U Station (remember the New-U Station, as it makes the farming much easier). Make sure to activate it as you pass. Run into the area with the elevator to find a Loot Tink.

The Loot Tink will always respawn, and there is a chance more Loot Tinks will spawn in the area. When you defeat the Loot Tink, loot the backpack on the ground for additional loot. After defeating the Loot Tink, exit to the menu and reload to respawn at the New-U Station by the bridge. Repeat this process as many times as desired. Legendary weapons are a lot more commonly dropped by Loot Tinks. If you play on Mayhem III, it is possible to get multiple Legendary weapons per run. It only takes a few minutes per run.

One Pump Chump Legendary weapon

Enter Lectra City from Meridian Metroplex. From the entrance of Lectra City, go straight ahead to the location of the “Proof Of Wife” mission. Once you reach this location, go to the bottom of the staircase. At the bottom of the stairs, go forward and stay to the left wall. Once you reach the opening on the left, continue forward to find a small alleyway on the left. Go down the alleyway to see a chainlink fence on the left side. Inside the room with the chainlink fence are some switches. Activate the switches to turn on all the TVs down the hall.

The sequence they are activated may be different some times. The following sequence should work most times: Press the button on the left, turn the wheel on the right, pull the lever to the right of the wheel, and then pull the lever on the left (may need to pull it twice). Once the five TVs at the end of the hall have been turned on, the “One Punch” enemy will come running out of the door towards you. He can kill you with one hit. Kill him to get a chance at the “One Pump Chump” Legendary weapon dropping. If it does not drop, leave the area and repeat the steps again until you get the One Pump Chump weapon. The One Pump Chump weapon is a powerful shotgun that kills most enemies with one shot and has a 50% chance not to consume ammo when fired.

We hope these Borderlands 3 tips help you on your journey to become the toughest Vault Hunter you can be!
