Watch Sam & Max Save the World Remastered Trailer
Skunkape Games has revealed that it will be releasing a remastered version of Sam & Max Save the World for the PC as well as the Nintendo Switch on December 2 of 2020. Naturally, the remaster will have improved visuals and audio, which are made possible by the removal of the compression that was used in the original version. On top of that, there will be improved gamepad support for people who choose to play that way.
For those who are unfamiliar, Sam & Max is a media franchise centered on a pair of anthropomorphic animals who work as a cross between vigilantes and private investigators. Sam would be the dog in the iconic suit and fedora while Max would be the short and aggressive rabbit-like creature. Sam & Max started up with a Steve Purcell comic book series. However, it secured widespread recognition because of the LucasArts video games from the 1990s.
In any case, Sam & Max Save the World wasn’t one of those LucasArts games. Instead, it was a Telltale Games graphic adventure game from the mid 2000s that managed to receive a positive reception for the most part, so much so that it inspired not one but two follow-ups. Now, the remaster is being handled by Skunkape Games, which makes sense because said developer is made up of former Telltale Games staff members.
