Astro's Playroom Cheats and Tips

What Is Astro’s Playroom? (Astro’s Playroom Cheats and Tips)

Astro’s Playroom is a follow-up to Astro Bot Rescue Mission. It comes pre-installed on the PS5, which makes sense because it serves as a tech demo for the DualSense controller.

What Are Some Tips for Astro’s Playroom?

Here are some tips to keep in mind:

Plan Out Your Moves (Astro’s Playroom Cheats and Tips)

Generally speaking, platformers aren’t associated with the need to plan out things. After all, their most challenging segments require players to be fast-moving, so much so that there isn’t much room for conscious thinking. However, planning can be very useful when players are about to head into such segments. By observing what is to come, they can plan out a course of action that will increase their chances of success, not least by preventing the potential for hesitation at a very inopportune time.

There Is an Option for Auto-Completing Pinwheels

There are pinwheels in Astro’s Room that must be activated by blowing into the microphone. However, if interested individuals don’t want to do that for whatever reason, they can just have the process complete itself by muting their microphone.

You Can Hold X for a Bigger Jump (Astro’s Playroom Cheats and Tips)

Bigger jumps are always useful in platformers. Fortunately, Astro’s Playroom has dynamic jumping, which means that holding down X will result in a much bigger jump than just tapping X. Something that interested individuals should keep in mind if they are struggling with the bigger gaps that can be found in the game. Besides this, it is worth mentioning that such a jump can be combined with a Spin and a Beam Glide to create a huge amount of distance, thus opening up even more possibilities for the player.

You Can’t Run Off of Ledges (Astro’s Playroom Cheats and Tips)

Running off of ledges is a time-honored tradition in platformers. However, it is one of those things that are much funnier for someone watching than for someone experiencing it firsthand. As a result, it is a good thing that Astro’s Playroom comes with protection from it. Essentially, if Astro seems as though he is going to enter into a fall that will kill him, he will stop at the very edge. Be warned that this protection is limited to running. Players who make a bad jump at a bad time will find that it is perfectly possible for them to die from it. As such, if they are moving over a very narrow stretch of terrain, it might be best for them to stay ground-bound for the duration.

Hit Small Animals

There are small animals such as crabs, rabbits, and toucans that can be found throughout Astro’s Playroom. They are fun to look at. However, they have an even more useful purpose in that they can contribute to the player’s coin collection efforts. One hit yields one coin, two hits yield two coins, but three hits will yield the maximum of seven coins, meaning that interested individuals might want to put some serious effort into this. Please note that if they get killed, they will need to re-collect all of the coins since the last checkpoint, meaning that there is extra incentive for them to be careful.
