The important thing is not to shoot but to dodge
It may seem obvious, but once you understand that Mighty DOOM isn’t about shooting but actually dodging, you’ll have a much easier time. Your character, the minislayer, shoots automatically, so paying attention to all the enemies on the map isn’t all that important. Instead, focus on dodging the projectiles on the screen and running away from the impact zones marked on the ground.
It doesn’t matter what weapons you carry, the damage you inflict, or the upgrades you have. Just dodge, and you won’t have any problem winning rounds.
Know your enemies
There’s no consequence for losing in Mighty DOOM. You can always start another game. That’s why there’s no reason not to take your time and study all the enemies in detail. Learn their movement patterns, their attacks, and ideal timings. And not only with the basic enemies; this also applies to the bosses of each zone.
This will save you a lot of trouble when advancing on the maps and help you analyze each room you enter at a glance. Before you even realize it, you’ll have all the attack patterns and movements so well memorized that you’ll adapt to each enemy that appears almost automatically, so you won’t have any problem making your way through all the levels.
Don’t stop moving
If there’s one thing Mighty DOOM has in common with its predecessors, it’s that it’s entirely based on movement. As we’ve already mentioned above, it’s important to dodge and stay aware of your surroundings, and the best way to do this is by moving around the map nonstop.
Take advantage of the trampolines and portals to instantly change your position, pounce on the staggering enemies to attack, and get extra health. Basically, don’t stand still unless you want to fall prey to the demons in the blink of an eye.
Have a strategy
Mighty DOOM is, above all, a roguelike. In the games, as you earn certain amounts of experience, you’ll be able to choose one of three random rewards that will improve your character or one of your weapons. Take your time to try out different combinations and, above all, create a strategy and adapt it according to what you get.
Don’t choose the option that sounds best for the current situation, but the one that best fits the build you use in each game. Sure, you’ll make mistakes and choose things that won’t benefit you, but that’s all part of the game, and necessary to learn what works and what doesn’t. Evaluate your successes and failures, and learn to plan, adapt and move forward.
Don’t rush
The fun thing about Mighty DOOM is actually playing rounds, killing demons, and dodging hundreds of projectiles. We know. But don’t be in a hurry to start playing. Explore all the game’s menus, upgrade your equipment, take advantage of the free boxes in the store, and compare the statistics of all your gear to make sure you’re carrying the best objects.
