Bramble: The Mountain King Swamp Chapter Cheat
Proceed down the path until you reach a wooden platforming section. Here, jump on the first moving platform, and then instead of going straight ahead, look to the left for some vines. Jump onto these vines and climb up.
Once on the upper ledge, run over to the wooden walkway and step over to the wooden beam for an interaction prompt. Interact with the beam here to drop it in place, and then drop yourself from the walkway so that you land on the beam or near it.
Cross the beam and proceed onward to get to the swamp.
In the swamp, proceed along the wooden path to get to a small raft platform. Interact with it to pull yourself forwards. Continue onward to find a crate, which you can interact with to push into the water. Jump onto the crate and then proceed forwards.
Continue on the wooden path to find some dark souls. They don’t seem to do anything to you, but you can drive them away with your light all the same. Take a right at the fork, crossing the wooden beam, and make your way to the higher point.
Proceed forwards to find another platforming section, this time with platforms that will sink if you stand on them for too long.
Go on across these platforms to reach another fork. Take a left here, and then go forwards. When you reach the shack, use the netting to climb up to the roof. Head forwards and drop through the roof to land inside the shack.
Get to the bottom floor and approach the main door, where you’ll find a bramble flower. Use your light to make the bramble go away and open the door. Now while still inside the shack, go to the other side of the room, towards a tall cage with a bramble flower near it. Use your light to make the bramble go away here as well.
Notice that this has unlocked an interaction point on a beam closer to the camera. Go here and interact to lower the cage fully, and then quickly run to the cage and jump on it. Wait for the cage to be automatically raised again and then jump onto the platform opposite the cage.
There’s yet another bramble flower here, so use your light to make it go away. You might need to step further away from the camera to properly hit the flower. Once the bramble lets go of the boat, you can leave the shack (provided you removed the bramble from the front door) and return to the wooden walkways.
Here, you can now jump onto the boat and cross over to the left, so do that.
We reach another small fork – here, take the lower route to find a figurine. Otherwise, take the upper route to enter a new shack. Look through the window to get a view of what’s inside, and then step through the door to enter.
Inside the shack, we have a little puzzle to solve. You have to combine an alchemical mix that matches the sigil combination on the door. In this case, we need to find a cross and a circle.
First, check the cupboard closest to the door and pick up the white powder in the shelf second from bottom. This one has a circle sigil, so add it to the mixture. Then, go to the opposite side of the room and check the table near the rocking chair. You’ll find a bottle with the cross sigil on it. Add this to the mixture as well. With the circle and cross added, go to the cauldron in the fireplace and combine.
For the second sigil combination, we require a diamond sigil and a three-circles sigil. The three-circles sigil can be found in the same cupboard where you found the circle sigil – look for the bottle on the top shelf. For the diamond, go to the leftmost cupboard in the room and check the yellow powder on the bottom shelf. Combine these two and take them to the cauldron as before.
Go through the open doorway. In the new room, look to the right of the door to find a book to read. You are required to read this book to get the handle of a crank that you need. Use the crank handle on the crank at the empty section of the wall in the room, and interact to lower the ladder all the way down.
Climb the ladder up all the way up. Here, you have to put a series of books one on the other so that you can reach the window above the bookshelves. One book is already in place. The second book is on the table in the middle – interact with the book and put it on the book at the base of the bookshelves. A third book can be found on the top-right shelf of the bookshelves below the window. A fourth book is on a low table near the hanging noose. You’ll find the final book at the very rightmost corner of the room.
Bramble: The Mountain King Walkthrough – The Swamp
After all five books are in position, jump on the books and then onto the top of the bookshelves, towards the window, to get out. Crouch through the window. Go right, drop down to the stairs, and then go down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, go right to find a wooden path once more. Follow this path and take a right at the fork, towards the lantern.
Jump off the platform and onto the rocky piece of land. Here, there’s no wooden path ahead, nor any platforms to jump to… unless you raise your light. With your light raised, follow the submerged wooden path, jumping onto the next platform as required.
When you reach the crate ahead, push it into the water, then raise your light again and jump onto the crate.
From the crate, jump towards the camera to land on another submerged platform. Follow the path right to a sinking platform and from there, jump towards the camera to land on another submerged path. Continue towards the camera for another sinking platform, and then jump to the right. Cross the beam to get to another raft platform and then pull yourself forwards.
Once you’ve gone as far as you can go, aim and shoot at the figure’s abdomen. Then aim and shoot at the bindings on the figure’s wrists. This will begin the midwife boss fight.
In this boss fight, you’ll stand on the raft platform and listen for audio cues of the midwife approaching. Follow these cues to find water ripples, and wait for either a crib to appear, or the midwife herself. If the midwife appears, shoot her immediately in the skull. Repeat this process three times to defeat the midwife.
Now once again, pull yourself forwards to reach the other shore. Use your light on the bramble flower to the left and proceed through the path that is revealed. Keep using your light on the bramble flower until you reach the other side of the bramble.
Here, run to the wooden path instead of making for the house. Jump onto the sinking platform and then the rock ahead. Use your light on the bramble flower here to dislodge the boat a bit. Proceed past the next sinking platform, onto the next rock to use your light once again and remove the bramble, dislodging the boat completely.
From there, return to the wooden path and then go back to land. Here, look for a ladder connecting the land to the boat’s deck, and climb the ladder to get on the boat. Using the wooden planks as a ramp, jump onto the roof of the house. Proceed forwards, dropping off the roof, and go through the clear path.
Here, as the music picks up, keep running forwards, jumping on the ledges and across the gaps as you go. Don’t worry about the dead end, as you’ll encounter a cutscene when you get there.
After the cutscene, proceed forwards to reach a wooden path. We have a familiar section here as Olle runs from one platform to another while being chased by a sinister entity.
First make for the cage, then the rock ahead, then the broken wooden path. Here, you’ll find that the path is broken, so make a run for the other end of the path, which is to the right of the screen. Climb the ladder here and jump left onto the rectangular cage. From here, you have to make a long sprint to the next cage, which is at the top of the screen. This will likely be very close and may require a couple of goes.
Next, make a run for the wooden path ahead. Once you drop down on the other side, you are free from that which lurked underwater. Proceed to the black mass ahead to find a number of dark souls. Raise your light to make them go away from you and proceed through the path that’s revealed before you. Do not touch the dark souls under any circumstances.
Once you reach the other shore, you are safe from the dark souls, and you need no longer prepare to die. After the cutscene, proceed forwards to the lit-up circle for another cutscene. Then go right and take the path through the bramble to find a light. Approach it for a cutscene, and the end of The Swamp.
You will enter the Library next, which is a brief interlude level. Follow the Lyktgubbe to the library and when you’re in the middle of it, climb onto the wooden stool in front of the reading desk. Read the book on the desk.
Once you’re done with the book, the path forwards will be open. Head through it and follow the Lyktgubbe to enter the next level: Skogsra’s Grove.
