  1. Rocket Start

    The rocket start is only a matter of timing. It works in ANY gear as long as you shift up JUST before the light turns green (GO!). For the fastest launch:

    – You need to pick MANUAL transmission!
    – At race start, hold down the accelerator and keep it held down. Start shifting up once the engine is around 6k.
    – Shift up STEADILY through the gears until you reach the second-highest gear for the car.
    – Wait until JUST BEFORE the light turns green (GO!) to shift up into top gear.
    – ZOOM!

    Note that you do NOT need to keep the engine revs at OR above 6k, just “high”. It’s the optimum shift point for most cars in the game. Again, as long as you shift up JUST before the light turns green, you can rocket start in ANY gear. Though, of course, top gear is the best one to be in.
